About Me
My name is Shane Potts born in 1973 and have run a business since taking over from my father who passed away suddenly when I was just 21.
You could say I was brought up in the heating industry…kind of! My father was a chimney sweep for as long as I could remember. He had a sweeping business in the North East just outside Durham, and things were a little tough in the 70’s. In the early 80s’ he moved to Somerset and went into partnership with another sweep called David Mitchell who was a founder member of the National Association of Chimney Sweeps.
The last thing I wanted to do when I left school was be a chimney sweep, so the first trade I trained in was brickwork and construction. This was a good trade and work kept coming in but I was not satisfied, so I continued in college retraining as a plumber and then obtained my Corgi registration now known as Gas Safe. We continued as a business in the South West of the UK and covered all aspects of domestic plumbing and then got involved in commercial plumbing and biomass.
